School Facts
 
Bailey Middle School was built in 1929 as a junior high school and has been used for various grades over the years.  It was closed in 1999 for major renovation and an addition.  Bailey opened again in 2001 as a middle school for the first time in over thirty years.  The facility has over 100,000 square feet and consists of: 40 classrooms, three clusters of offices, four science labs, four computer labs, an auditorium, gymnasium, and cafeteria.  The campus consists of eight scenic acres nestled in a historical community.

Bailey Middle School is a Metropolitan Nashville Public School (MNPS) serving students in grades five through eight.  The school years is 180 days.  The school day consists of six periods from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. five days a week.  Students who are failing or score poorly on TCAP are offered summer school.  Bailey students are additionally offered an after-school program, The Bridge Program, Nashville Prevention Partnership, and a summer remedial program.

Bailey Middle School's faculty and staff are consistently striving to improve student behavior and academic achievement.  Each grade level has common planning time allowing the teams to meet together for grade level meetings.  The faculty has worked hard to correct procedural violations and is proactive in addressing behavior problems before they begin.  In-School Suspension is operational at Bailey to help students regain the skills necessary for acaemic success at school.
